How and where to vote come November

Marylanders can vote early in-person, on Election Day, Nov. 5, in person, or by mail.

Early voting starts Oct. 24 and continues until Oct. 31. Each center is open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections. Early voting centers can be found on the Maryland State Board of Election’s website. Watersedge Community Center and Victory Villa Community Center serve the Dundalk area.

To vote by mail, your request must be received by Oct. 29 if sending a letter, or Nov. 1 if submitting the request online.The form is available here.

Mail-in ballots must be postmarked by Nov. 5 at 8 p.m or handed in at one of the 286 drop boxes across the state or a Board of Elections office by Nov. 5 at 8 p.m.

On Election Day, Nov. 5, polling places will be open between 7 a.m. and 8 p.m. Be aware that some polling places have changed since the primary. Find your polling place online here.

You can register to vote early up to Oct. 15, or register the same day you vote, according to the Maryland State Board of Elections. Bring a document proving your address if you do same-day voter registration.

Make sure your registration is up-to-date using the State Board of Election’s online registration system or by bringing the registration form to your local Board of Elections office.

“With three ways to vote, I encourage every Marylander to have a plan for how and when they will cast their ballot,” State Administrator Jared DeMarinis said in a press release. “Be sure to remember Maryland’s registration and voting deadlines and contact the State Board of Elections or your local board of elections with questions you may have about Maryland’s election process.”
