Free meals will be available for children in summer

Frederick is offering children free lunches on weekdays from June to August in seven places in Frederick and one place each in Brunswick and Walkersville.

The city will not serve meals on June 19 and July 4, according to a city press release. The United States Department of Agriculture funds the program and Maryland administers it.

The distribution sites are:

  • Hill Street Park Pavilion, 100 Hill St., 12:30 to 1:30 p.m.
  • College Estates Park, 1202 to 1298 Wilson Place, 12:15 to 1 p.m.
  • Police Activities League Center, 111 Pennsylvania Ave., 12 to 12:30 p.m.
  • Carrollton Park, 455 Center St., 12 to 12:45 p.m.
  • Windsor Gardens Apartments, 1111 Key Parkway, 12 to 12:30 p.m.
  • Amber Meadows Playground Pavilion, 201 Amber Drive, 12 to 12:30 p.m.
  • Ballenger Creek Park, 5420 Ballenger Creek Pike, 12 to 1 p.m.

Brunswick

  • Brunswick Library, 915 N. Maple Ave., 12:15 to 1 p.m.

Walkersville

Discovery Community Center, 8740 Stauffer Road, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
